Old News/New News:   At the last camp weather was fantastic with nearly perfect weather and cool temps. The first week in April is a reliable weather week with temps ranging from the 60's to mid 70s and lots of sunshine.   We have many routes ranging from 30 miles with very little climbing to typical Blue Ridge riding with grades from gentle to 8% on the mtns. Road surfaces are excellent.

====================================================================

Camp   The main “Inn”, a large converted horse stable, has 10 guest rooms and features a large reception gallery for meetings and dining, a kitchenette (complete with plates, cups, utensils, coffee pot, and even a microwave), a soapstone fireplace …this is where the action will be centered.  Campers in the know want to be here.   The “Farm House” has three spacious guest rooms.    The “ Cottage” is a one room living quarter divided into a master bedroom, living room with a folding couch and a full kitchen.     The Inn has an excellent group atmosphere where we can spread out during the mornings and evenings.  There is plenty of space for bike storage, stretching and hanging out.   A daily schedule is listed below. We hope that everyone will want to ride in small groups, shop together, and explore the beautiful rural scenery together.

What to bring:

Cloths:  The temperature is expected to be 60-70ish with cool mornings, and clear, sunny days. Just

in case it rains bring a rain cape, booties and weatherproof riding gloves in addition to

your regular riding gear.  A second pair of riding shoes and hiking boots is a good idea.

Tools:    Bring the basics.  Our Inn Keeper is an ex-pro Dutch cyclist and he has most

bicycle repair tools and I will supply a pro-work stand.

Bicycle:  Bring one spare tyre and 4 tubes in addition to your regular gear.  We are about

30 miles from the nearest bike shop.  Roads are VERY nice and mostly glass

               free.

Food:      Bring your favorite on the bike energy food.  The country side is scenic, hilly and

beautiful, however it is also rural.  Country stores are few and far between.  Two

large water bottles or a Camelback and energy bars are recommended for every

               ride.

Other:  Favorite snacks, big pillow for lounging, soda, board games, frisbee

Meals/General format: *There is a good grocery nearby*

Breakfast 7:30 am - Light breakfast. If you have a favorite breakfast food, by all means bring it and use the large refrigerator to store perishables. Every morning I will provide STRONG coffee. Riders need rocket fuel nes pas?

Lunch - Each day before we leave for our rides I’ll set out a big crock pot full of black beans and a rice cooker that will be ready when you return from your ride. There will be a block of cheddar cheese, diced Vidalia onions w/cilantro in a Tupperware container and kick arse’ hot sauce in the fridge’ to garnish your beans. OR shop for your own lunch at the WORLD famous *Blue Pig BBQ* located at the bottom of the hill. (Featured on the Food Network).

Dinner – Regroup at 7:00pm for dinner in town on your own (except Sunday and Friday). On Sunday, Coach Josh will prepare a seared salmon over exquisite greens and warm goat cheese with balsamic vinaigrette. Friday is Tom’s day to shine as the reigning BBQ king and I am sure we all will fight for his chicken and ribs.
